Workshop Facilitation

Technical review workshops are necessary for all engineering design projects and in some cases following a major incident event. The objectives of these technical reviews are to highlight or classify significant issues which may have been otherwise overlooked. It is important that such review sessions are led by a strong chairperson with working knowledge of the issues and understanding of the review process.

Fedem Engineering is able to provide such candidates. We have a selection of dedicated Chairpersons with significant industry experience able to facilitate workshops. Our Chairpersons have a history in executing and coordinating the following workshops:

Safety Engineering

Fedem Engineering is a specialist provider of the following safety studies to identify process or non-process hazards, analyse their effects and assess the risks associated with the facilities or operations during normal operations or simultaneous operations (SIMOPS):

Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA)

Qualitative Risk Assessments and Quantitative Risk Assessments are specialised methods for calculating risks to individuals, public (societal risk), the environment and/or assets. As part of the formal safety assessment required in the project HSE management, a QRA is highly demanded by our clients to identify major accident hazards and reduce the significant risk contributor according to the As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) principle.

Fire Detection and Fire Protection System Design

At Fedem, we have team of specialists who provides fire risk assessment and fire risk safety engineering design to ensure fires and smoke are detected at the onset of the events and appropriate controls and mitigations safeguards are provided to protect people and their environments from the destructive effects of fires and smoke.

Environmental Risk Assessment and Management

Fedem's environmental impact assessment service helps the stakeholders with the identification of the environmental, social and economic impacts of a proposed development before a decision is taking on whether or not to proceed. Particular attention is given in our environmental risk assessment practice to preventing, mitigating and offsetting the significant adverse effects of proposed undertakings.

Functional Safety Engineering

The fundamentals of Functional Safety have been further highlighted in the industry through highly publicised asset integrity disasters. The importance of following Functional Safety Lifecycle in accordance with IEC 61508 / 61511 standards is key as concepts have become embedded in regulatory requirements. 

Functional Safety studies are performed with the objective of providing assurance that safety related systems offer the appropriate level of risk reduction to achieve the required protection for equipment.
 

Fedem Consulting provides functional safety assurance by reviewing engineering design with an aim to:
